This painting reminds me of Santa Elena Canyon in Big Bend National Park. The Rio Grande flows through the canyon below the high walls over 1,000 feet. I hiked this short trail with a couple friends on a birthday camping trip. Little did I know I’d live near the Rio Grande a few years later.
