Painting a Mountain Never Gets Dull

March 2022

Painting a mountain never gets dull. Why? Because each painting has a different color palette, form, shape, line pattern, mood, memory reference, and composition. And all of these are intuitively chosen in the creative moment.

I was recently told by a collector my paintings make her feel happy, safe, and motivate her to do anything - like hike a mountain. Wow, this was so moving to hear! For someone to “transport” themselves is an example of the transformative power of art and how it can inspire people.

The paintings are generally not a specific mountain; they could be from anywhere, even other-worldly. There are some I do recall from a certain drive or campsite and use as the starting point.

Here is a selection of paintings. Notice the variations of mood, colors, forms, and compositions.
