What Inspires my Color Palette

April 2022

An art collector asked me what inspires my color palette. The answers is nature with a dash of artistic license.

Below are photographs I took with the various colors that inspire my palette. The blue skies, the glowing mountains at sunset, red rock, wispy blooms, butterflies, the seasons, moody sunrises, lichen, clouds, plants, leaves, and the list goes on and on. The dash of artistic license comes into play when I add a color that “wasn’t there”, for contrast, or it was intuitively added in the moment.

Thank you art collector for this prompt. I appreciate your questions!
